Her teachers included Adele Marcus, Gyorgy Sandor, and Gregory Haimovsky. As a member of the NYU Chamber Music Society she premiered many works at Merkin Hall and won the NYU Chamber Music Special Award. In addition, she has presented many lecture-recitals on the music of Turkish composers and Debussy's piano music in international conferences and performance series. Ms. Durakoglu is currently the artistic director of the Chamber Music Society, she founded in Hoboken where she also maintains her own piano studio.
Besides her life as a musician, Aysegul Durakoglu likes to spend time with her daughter Naz, and cocker spaniel Princess. Her hobbies include cooking Turkish food and swimming in Sandy Hook. |
